What is Biennale?

‘Biennale’ is Italian meaning ‘Every 2 years’, and is a ‘large-scale international exhibition event’ held every 2 years to focus on the new flow of contemporary art.

Where is the Gangneung e-zen?

The road name address of the Gangneung e-zen is ‘131 Nanheonseol-ro, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, Korea’, and the lot number address is ‘532-2, Chodang-dong, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do, Korea’. For details, please refer to the ‘Visitor Information’ menu in the official website.

Where is the parking lot?

A. It is difficult to use the indoor parking lot of the ‘Gangneung e-zen’ as it is a market. Please use the ‘Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park’ Parking Lot nearby. (It is about 5 minute walk (150m) through the pine tree road connecting the parking lot and the exhibition.)

The parking lot is estimated to be crowded due to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, so use of public transportation is recommended.

What is the visiting hours of the exhibition and the exhibition period?

The exhibition schedule of Gangwon International Biennale is Feb. 3 ~ Mar. 18, 2018, every day from 10:00 A.M. to 18:00 P.M. However, the last admission is 17:30 P.M.

Is there a guide on artworks provided while visiting the exhibition?

In the Gangwon International Biennale, there is a ‘Docent Program’ describing the

artworks and the artists. There are total of 4 sessions a day (11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00

About 1 hour), and if it is difficult to participate in the program, please refer to the staff nearby,

and he or she will introduce the artwork of your inquiry in detail.

How much is the fare for admission?

It is free.
